Cinnamon Rolls, Knitters, and Music by Lee Muller at Saturday’s Market

Join the fun at the Emporia Farmers Market, open at 8am on Saturday, June 13, in the parking lot at 7th and Merchant, downtown Emporia. Market manager, Tracy Simmons, invites all area knitters to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day at the market on Saturday. Bring a chair, show off your projects, and teach a neighbor how to knit while enjoying the music of Americus singer and songwriter, Lee Muller.

Saturday’s market also features the first Murphy’sMenu Cook-Off of the season. The theme is cinnamon rolls; the contest is, “Who makes the best?”

Please indicate your intention to compete in the Cinnamon Roll Cook-off by calling or emailing Regina Murphy no later than Noon on Friday at 342-4800 or regina@emporia.com. Entry and recipe should be delivered to the market kiosk no later than 7:50am on Saturday. Plan for about 50 bite-sized servings. At market start, shoppers will be invited to taste and vote for their favorite entries. The winner will be announced in the Emporia Gazette and will receive $10 in market money, a cookbook courtesy of the Emporia Area Local Food Network, plus a feature in The Emporia Gazette.
